I had the pleasure of reviewing the operations of Reuters in South Africa this week, and beyond the satisfaction of seeing a strongly growing unit, I was proud to witness the commitment of the management to achieve full compliance with the Black Economic Empowerment initiative.  One can argue about the pros and cons of affirmative action, but there can be no doubt as to the course taken by the South African government and the local business establishment.  There should also be no doubt as to the commitment of the Reuters executive team to achieving diversity and inclusion as part of our talent management plan globally.
